NIKKI (Naoko) KATSUKI, BS, IBCLC, RLC, CLC is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in Queens NY. After working at a hospital in Tokyo, Japan as a clinical dietitian for five years, she came to New York City to study nutrition and food science in the western culture.
After receiving her B.S. degree in nutrition and food science from Hunter College, City University of New York, she counseled culturally diverse participants for many years as a lactation counselor (CLC, Certified Lactation Counselor) and nutritionist at WIC (Women, Infants and Children), the program of lactation and nutrition support for prenatal and postpartum women, babies and small children. Then she passed the advanced exam of IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) in 2009, and at almost same time, she became the CENTER MANAGER of the same program in Astoria, New York.
Later Nikki fulfilled her dream to have her own practice and established VITAL CHOICE INC. and still went through a mentorship of private lactation consultation by Ms. Susan E. Burger (IBCLC, PhD), the one of the most experienced and well known private lactation consultants in New York. As a private lactation consultant, she continues to provide breastfeeding support through prenatal class and postpartum lactation home visit. In addition, Nikki has recently become an Aetna health care provider as a lactation consultant. She is a member of NYLCA (New York Lactation Consultant Association) and LILCA (Long Island Lactation Consultant Association). She lives in Little Neck, Queens, New York, and is a mother of a daughter.
